Inflammation is the body's response to injury and illness. Its job is to signal the immune system to activate its heal and repair system to repair any torn tissue or damage and defend itself in the process.

Anti-inflammatory foods, exercise, good sleep, and stress management can help. In some cases, getting additional support from supplements may be useful as well.

Here are a few anti-inflammatory supplements for the muscles that can ease the process.

 

  • Alpha-Lipoic Acid:

It is a fatty acid made by your body. It plays a key role in metabolism and energy production. It also functions as an antioxidant that protects your cells from damage and helping restore levels of other antioxidants like vitamins C and E.

Fish oil supplement is probably the most popular supplement and highly beneficial if taken regularly. It contains omega-3 fatty acids which are extremely beneficial for your health. It reduces inflammation and promotes gut health but be mindful of the supplement before taking it as it may thin the blood.

 

  • Ginger:

This household item is a solution to many illnesses let it be a cold or bad throat and also inflammation. It's also commonly used to treat indigestion and nausea and even morning sickness.

Research also suggests that ginger supplements can decrease inflammation and muscle soreness after heavy exercise. It also warms the body and strengthens the immune system.

 

  • Resveratol:

It is an antioxidant found in grapes, blueberries and other fruits with purple skin. It is also found in red wine and peanuts.

It is an essential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound which also helps in protecting brain cells from damage. Antioxidants remove the bacteria from your body that may exaggerate the inflammation.

 

  • Spirulina:

Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae with strong antioxidant effects.

Many studies have shown that it reduces inflammation and also leads to healthier aging and may strengthen the immune system and help fight bacteria.

 

  • Zinc :

According to doctors, zinc supplements decrease inflammation and oxidative stress among older adults.

Zinc is also said to reduce the rate of infections by 66%. Zinc can be found in common foods like eggs, nuts, whole grains and meat.

 

  • Green tea:

As basic and unworthy it sounds, doctors support it. Research suggests that green tea may hold the production of certain inflammatory chemicals. Most doctors recommend drinking three or four cups of green tea per day. It not only helps fight inflammation but rejuvenates your mind and immune system.

 

  • Frankincense:

'Boswellia serrata' also known as frankincense, can ease both inflammation and pain. It is a fast-acting supplement that may help with osteoarthritis pain in just 5 days. Combining frankincense with curcumin may increase its effect. Some research has found that people are more forbearing to this combination better than the NSAID.

Anti-inflammatory supplements do not always work especially if inflammation lasts long as it could become a cause of major health issues and bacteria.
