10 WAYS TO EAT AVOCADOS

Avocados are used as an ingredient in many recipes to give one’s meals a nutritional boost. Just one ounce (28 grams) contains good amounts of healthy fats, fibre and protein. Avocados are also known to have many benefits including those for heart and weight loss.

10 ways to eat avocados

  1. Seasoned

The most easiest way to eat and enjoy avocados is by sprinkling a pinch of salt and pepper on them. One can also try other seasonings and spices like for example, paprika, cayenne pepper, balsamic vinegar or lemon juice. A fast and easy way to season an avocado is to cut it into little bits and pieces and trickle it with a few drops of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pepper and salt.

If one is looking for a more nutritious morning meal, one should try including avocados into their breakfast. One can stuff half an avocado with eggs for example. One can also place crumbled, cooked bacon on top of the avocado and season it with newly harvested garden fresh herbs and spices like parsley, cayenne pepper, salt and normal pepper.

If one wants to give a regular morning breakfast a new taste, one can add some avocado to their scrambled eggs. One should add diced avocado to their eggs while the eggs are cooking in a pan. In addition, one can add a different taste to their guacamole by combining it with other great ingredients like corn, pineapple, broccoli and quinoa, to name a few.

Avocados can also be an excellent side dish by being grilled especially for barbecued meats. One should simply cut an avocado in half and remove the seed and then trickle the both the halves with some lemon juice and brush them with olive oil. Then one should put the sliced side facing downwards on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes. Finally, one should season it with salt and pepper or any other seasoning of one’s choice.

In many dishes such as salads and sandwiches, avacado pickles taste delicious when used in them. In order to make them, one should white vinegar, water and salt in a saucepan and bring the concoction to a simmer. The concoction must then be poured into a jar and  then three diced, unripe avocados must be added. Lastly, cover them with a lid and let them marinate for a few days before consuming them. Various ingredients can flavour the pickling avacados like garlic, fresh herbs, mustard seeds, peppercorns or chilies, etc.

Smoothies can be an ideal snack substitute or a meal itself. One can combine avocado with green, leafy vegetables like kale and fruits like banana, pineapple or berries. Plus, for a protein-packed smoothie, try adding some protein powder, Greek yogurt or milk.
