Improving Flexibility Better Benefits Fitness and Health

Muscular Flexibility

Overload and specific training are needed in the development of muscular flexibility. When looking to increasing joint range of motion you need to focus on the stretch the surrounding muscles around the joint, then stretch the muscles progressively beyond their length. The factors that can affect range of movement could be weight, injury, age or illness.

Improving and maintaining good your body joint range of motion is important throughout life can give great benefits. When  a further range of motion is achieved you can repair muscles and loosen joints. Stretching before and after workouts can be  normally overlooked. Flexibility training fitness is one of the most significant methods of physical activity training.

When muscular training your muscles grow, with the growth in the muscle you will lose elasticity and movement. The reason for this occurrence is because your tendons and ligaments shorten making your joints tighter therefor allowing less range of motion.

Stretching exercises are most effective when the joints are warmed up. When warming the body for flexibility training  you need to remember keep a log the following;

  • Muscle
  • Mode
  • Intensity
  • Repetitions
  • Frequency of exercise
