CLA Improves Weight Loss

If you want to lose weight, there are a number of different supplements you can take to help you achieve that goal. One of them is CLA, which stands for conjugated linoleic acid, which is an omega-6 polyunsaturated essential fatty acid (EFA) that has been linked with fat loss.

For instance, one study involved using 20 men and 40 women with body mass indexes (BMI) over 25.1 but under 34.9, putting them somewhere in the overweight or obese range. While some subjects were given CLA pills in doses of 1.7, 3.4, 5.1, or 6.8 grams per day, the remaining subjects were given placebos, or fake pills filled with olive oil instead.

The study spanned 12 weeks, with the participants being evaluated three different times to record their body fat, amount of lean body mass, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate. They also had to perform different exercises and give blood samples to make sure the results were attributable to the CLA and that they were staying in safe CLA zones.

Upon conclusion, researchers found that the groups taking CLA had “a significant difference in body fat.” They also had greater muscle strength and lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels, which ultimately means greater health as this is the type of cholesterol that is dangerous to your health.

While CLA can be found naturally in foods like meat and dairy, it is also available in pill and powder form. Therefore, taking CLA supplements is a great way to increase the rate at which you lose weight.
